If the dog has only missed one or two meals it may not be a big deal as long as it is still taking water. Sometimes a dog will stop eating for a day or two if there is a female in heat near by. Generally after a day or two the dog will be hungry and eat again. If this persists more than two days or the dog is behaving as though something is wrong it should be taken to the vet.
