Is it cranking or not cranking? Pukenstein@aol.com what caused you to check the timing?? If your car just stopped running while you were driving then it probably you cam sensor. But check your spark and listen for you fuel pump to turn on. If neither of those work then try you fuel pressure regulator.
i would check the timing. check for compression.
Check timing/timing belt
Check timing belt
Check the 2001 Trooper for proper fuel pressure. Check for proper ignition timing, and check for a clogged EGR filter.
yes they are fuseable links you should have one at the starter but if it backfired i would check the timing gears and chain to make sure you didnt mess the gears up and that it didnt jump timing
I would check the ignition timing and set it to the desired specifications. Next I would clean the throttle plate.
Check the fuel pressure next. Then check the timing. With good fuel, spark and the right timing the c10 should start.
If you have fuel and spark, then it would have to be a timing or compression problem. I could be ingnition timing or camshaft timing. Check to see if the timing belt has slipped or is broken. Pull the spark plus and check engine compression. A service manual should be available for this vehicle at any auto parts store for around $20.00. Good luck.
Check if you're getting fire, next make sure you're getting fuel, and check your timing belt.
there could be any number of conditions that would cause this.... you need to check out the ffuel delivery, spark, timing, and injector circuit
Well it could be that your timing might be off if it didnt backfire before,i would get the timing checked or go back to where you got it done.
Qestion: Old or new engine, short or long block? Did you have the head off: check valve timing (timing belt) Are all the wire harnesses hooked back up? Check all grounds. Crank and/ or valve sensors in the right position? Check sparkplugs, wiring, injectors, do you get fuel, spark, Is the "check engine" light on. I have installed many neon motors and i usually replace the timing beltin the process.I have had a couple that didnt start when i was finished.first thing i would do check for spark, then if it has that i would poor a tiny bit of fuel into the throttle body, if it burps out of the throttle body then it is out of time, probably just one or two teeth.i then would take the alt. belt, power steering pump, harmonic balancer, and timng cover off.thrn bring the engine up to top dead center and line up your marks, crank pulley has to be set btdc(half a notch before the mark). reassemble in reverse order. good luck!!
