Cement is the texture of very fine sand or dust. It is one ingredient in concrete. The others are aggregate (sand and gravel) and water. Cement is the binder that holds the whole thing together. If you mixed cement and water you would get something like plaster, but it would be very weak. So to answer your question, cement is the only thing to drive on.

Under normal circumstances we would not find asbestos in Portland cement. Asbestos has a number of applications (even though it is hazardous), but none of them involve it being mixed with cement. The presence of asbestos in cement would weaken the final product (concrete, grout, mortar, stucco, or whatever), so there is no reason to deliberately include it in the cement.

I cant accuratly help you with the cement content but you need about 1 ton of sand and 1 ton of stone for every cubic meter of concrete. The cement content would depend on what you are using the concrete for. At 15 newtons of strength you would ( and this is just an educated guess) need about 95kg of OPC cement, 85kg of GGBS slag, 1.5lt of WRA (water reducing agent) and about 70lt of water to gain a 50mm slump per cubic meter. If I were you I would get it ready mixed. 70 Cube is a LOT of cocrete. Ready mixed 15 Newton concrete is about £75 inc vat per meter delivered. Regards Colin, a Tarmac concrete batcher.

There is a type of truck called a cement mixer, which carries a large, rotating container in which cement or concrete can be mixed. That's what I would use, if I needed to mix 3000 pounds of concrete. Alternatively, to mix by hand, I would put it in a large container and stir it with a canoe paddle. But that would be very strenuous. Also, it is a lot easier to pour, if it has been mixed in a cement mixer. If you mix it in some other container, pouring it is going to be a major challenge.

A LOT! Gunnite is make by mixing cement, sand, and water in an approximate ratio of 1 part cement to 4-6 parts sand with 1 part water using a high pressure spraying mechanism. Please note that the major component in gunnite is SAND and not cement. With this as a guideline, a 50 pound bag of cement would be mixed with at least 200 pounds of cement (approximate total mixture weight of 250 pounds). Thus,it would require approximately 8 such mixtures to equal 2000 pounds (2000 divided by 250 = 8) and since there is one bag of cement per mixture, it would require around 8 bags or 400 pounds of cement. Furthermore, one 250 pound mixture (containing one bag of cement) will cover approximately 5 square feet at a depth of 1 inch.
