An avalanche
Gravity is the key force pulling an avalanche downhill. As snow accumulates on a slope, it can reach a critical point where the force of gravity overcomes the friction between layers of snow, causing the avalanche to slide downhill.
People ride on snow with snowboards, skis, snowmobiles, and sleds.

Gravity but the snow provides friction
Naturally formed mass of ice and snow that moves downhill on land under the influence of gravity
It is a snow avalanche or simply an avalanche. (Also known as a snowslide or snowslip.)
if the land was flat and there was no hill you obviously cannot downhill ski. also if the climate was too hot and there be no snow you wouldn't be able to ski there. additionally if you was competing and it was quite a warm day, it wouldn't be fair on the last person to ski because the first person would have got snow that was more solid and by the time the last person ski's some of the snow would have melted, therefore it would be harder to complete the hill without falling over.
