The Theodore Roosevelt National Park and the North Dakota Badlands are a scenic area in western North Dakota.
Theodore Roosevelt lived in North Dakota. He owned two ranches in western North Dakota, the Maltese Cross Ranch (or Chimney Butte Ranch), located south of Medora, North Dakota, and the Elkhorn Ranch, located 35 miles north of Medora, North Dakota. Teddy referred to the Elkhorn Ranch as his "home ranch".
