The Albatros series of German pursuit aircraft -- the D.I, D.II, and D.III -- was designed and built during the spring and summer of 1916. The D.III, the last and most famous and numerous, entered squadron service in December of that year.
Before their fighter or pursuit aircraft, Albatros had built MANY observation, bomber and trainer aircraft. There were Albatros aircraft in the German Air Force at the start of war in 1914. The aircraft were gradually developed into their later fighters.

An Albatross can fly for a year without stopping. The Albatross has the largest wingspan of any bird. because of its huge wings, the albatross can glide for months on ocean winds without landing. This giant bird soars through the air at about 25 miles per hour (40kph). It can even sleep while flying
An albatross nest is typically constructed from a variety of materials, including grass, soil, and small stones. They often form a substantial mound, which can be built up over time with added vegetation and debris. The nest is usually situated on rocky cliffs or open ground, providing stability and protection for the eggs and chicks. Albatrosses tend to return to the same nesting site year after year, contributing to the nest's growth and complexity.
