I still have the manual for mine, which has "copyright 1969, by the power tool institute.....". That may be a couple of years off, but I have had this saw since my teens....if that helps. My grandfather, who used to read and commit to memory all sorts of publications about tools, hardware, vehicles, etc. said that sears power tools were made by singer back in those days.....
