AS41 means the crankcase is made out of magnesium. They all are.

You need to get the engine serial number from under the generator or alternator (on the base of the stand) to determine the year and original size.

What year is air cooled vw engine number AS41?

AS41 is the metal the crankcase is made from. It was used in engines up to 1975--when they changed to fuel injection.

What year is vw engine number AS41?

the AS engine could be from a number of years I'm afraid- it's a 1600 from August 1973 to the end of production- 1979 i think.AnswerAS41 isn't an engine number. It's the magnesium alloy your engine case was cast from. Volkswagen changed to the improved AS21 alloy in 1975--it was introduced when VW put fuel injection on the Bug engine. So...if you've got an AS41 case, it could have come out of just about any year car.

What is the Greek language equivalent of the name James?

I believe it is Iakobos (Google for Iakobos and you'll find it means "he supplanted" or "held by the heel" or similar, which is the same for James). In Greek (as opposed to Roman) lettering I believe it is Ιακωβος with the first 'o' as omega, although some people have it down as Ιακοβος (the first 'o' as omicron). If you Google the Greek spellings Ιακοβος has 147 hits, and Ιακωβος has 200,000 hits, including one (http://www.masteranylanguage.com/cgi/f/lView.pl?li=AS41&pc=MALGreek&tc=Media) with the equivalent Greek song to Frère Jacques. Answer: I might be wrong but i think that... Iakobos/Iacovos is Jacob not James... James is Demetrios.... Frere Jacques means Brother John in French....
