They will not fit. The easiest way to tell if something from an older model will fit onto a newer model is to get the CHilton guide for the year you are working on. If both the donor car's model year and the recipient car's model year are in the same book, it wont work.
To help answer your question, give the year of the car, and model. eg. Wagon, Hatchback, 2dr 4dr... and i will give you an answer :P 1997 Ford Escort 4dr
The fuel cutoff is located in the back right of the wagon. You should see a little plastic square in the back right hatch area. You stick your finger in the hole, and rip the door off.. your switch will be right inside there. (May be of the left side, depending on year of escort wagon)
Ford Escorts are no longer produced by the Ford Motor Company. The last year they were produced was 2003. It replaced the Ford Pinto an gained a good reputation, much better than the flawed Pinto. The Escort was the best selling car of 1982.
The brand of tire you purchase is entirely up to you, but the size for most Ford Escorts is P185/60R15. The size of the tire can also be P185/65R14, depending on what year vehicle you have.
It very definitely is a good car. The 2002 Escort was the last model year for the 3rd generation of Escorts. When the 3rd generation of Escorts were starting to be made in 1997, Ford had already been building them since 1980. So they had all the bugs worked out in the last model year. I have a 97 which has 205,000 miles on it and I have never had anything go out on it except brakes and belts and a battery or two which are normal wear out items on any car. Good car!
Most major parts houses would have the ignition switch. Any year between 1991 and 1996 will fit it.
We need to know more. 1.) Year of Car 2.) Body Style (DX, LX, Wagon) 3.) Engine Size Please update this question, to get the proper answer. 1995 Ford Escort LX 1.9L
It is difficult to say because in the year 96 they changed over from OBDI to an OBDII system. the 96 is the only 2nd generation Escort to use the OGDII system. In 97-02 they all use the OBDII system, but are third generation Escorts so it is doubtful if the ECM from one of these would fit a 96 Escort.
Late 1996 to 1998 year 4L60E Transmissions will work with no problems.
In North America the last model year for the Ford Escort was ( 2003 )
