due to her greedy to the chocolates, sweetes and candies which she had eaten made her to cavities and decayed teeth. This had made to meet the dentist and filled the cavities.
She regretfully thinks that what she had ate at that times...the route of the dentist increased.
At young she used to ate lollies and candies and made fun of her mother due to her false teeth or decayed teeth even she laughed.
But now she realised the bitter fact that she should have listen to her mother at that time even she should have realise that very soon she would too have the same decayed teeth..that is what the poet that she should looked after me teeth.. THANK YOU!

In this poem by Pam Ayres, she regrets about her bad habit of eating many sweets, candies, chocolates and all other edibles that would please her sweet tooth. Because of continuous consumption of such items she now (which is years later) regrets that she had done so, as she has many caps, cavities, and decays.
She now has to visit the dentist frequently and has to bear the pain of drillings and injections, and while staring up the dentist's nose, she thinks about her mistakes.
The poem mainly shows us that prevention is better than cure.

"So I can wish you Merry Christmas!"
Through the poem, the poet expresses her feeling of regret for not taking care of her teeth at the right time when she was a child which lead to inauspicious consequences. She feels remorse for ignoring them when she carelessly ate all those sweets which were considered harmful for the teeth. She repents on faking to brush her teeth and ultimately, all these acts lead to the formation of cavities and decays inside her mouth. The poem brings home the idea that one should always take care of his/her teeth.
