The number of flights an Airbus A380 makes per year can vary significantly depending on the airline, route, and operational schedule. On average, an A380 might operate between 2,000 to 4,000 flights annually. Factors like seasonal demand, maintenance schedules, and airline strategies can influence these numbers. Overall, the A380 is typically used for high-capacity long-haul routes, which can affect its flight frequency.
The first Airbus model, the A300, entered service with Air France in May 1974. The most recent model, the A380 "super-jumbo", entered service with Singapore Airlines on 15-Oct-2007.
The research phase of the A380 program was started in 1988. The design phase started in Dec 2000 with the maiden flight in 2005.

I heard that there is going to be an Airbus from Port Charlotte to Illinois? Could you give me more information? Thanks * * * UPDATED * * * Currently (Jul 09) the A380 is operates to 18 different destinations. Currently three airlines operate these aircraft including Qantas, Singapore Airlines and Emirates. From November 09 Air France will become the fourth airline to begin commercial flights of the A380 and will add a 19th destination (New York JFK - after Emirates cancelled services to JFK earlier this year). See the related link below for a complete, up-to-date listing of all routes and schedules flown by the A380. It includes schedules for Qantas, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, and Air France (from Nov09). http://airtraveladvice.blogspot.com/2009/07/which-routes-airbus-a380-flies.html
About $88 million for a 3 year old 340-500 airbus.
The cost to insure an Airbus A380 can vary significantly based on factors such as the airline's operational history, the coverage limits, and specific risks associated with the aircraft's operation. On average, hull and liability insurance for an A380 can range from $500,000 to $1 million per year. However, premiums can be higher or lower depending on the insurer and the specific terms of the policy. Additionally, larger airlines may benefit from bulk purchasing or other arrangements that can affect overall costs.
The dispatch availability of the small number of A380's in service is about 97%, slightly short of the standard availability of 98.5%. For such a complex and totally new design, teething troubles in the first year or so of operation are not unusual.
