It sounds like you have two different serial numbers on your gun. Is that correct? If the receiver number is 440519 then the main gun was made in 1954.If you are saying the barrel is marked with 58398 and says "acier special" then the barrel was likely made in 1923.I don't know what 1276 is reffering to. Please be more specific.The question is "Is this a Browning Arms Co. Auto 5?" OR "Is this an FN model Auto 5?"If there is no engraving on the receiver except for the Browning bust, then it's a FN model made in 1954.If this doesn't sound right, then please re-ask and be more specific.
