A deposit of graphite found in Cumbria
Graphite is an electricity conductor; I suppose that the discoverer of this property is unknown.
Graphite (I think)
because carbon graphite had carbon but graphite does not have carbon
You think probable to graphite.
Carbon was known from prehistoric times as graphite, coal, diamond.
most likely its discovery wasn't documented until 1889
The property of graphite is the killing of many other materials of the history of the elements of the chemistry.. It is discovered by Warren Jake Mendoza. A chemist who discovered this issue.
Sometime before 1565(some say as early as 1500)
The pencil was invented in 1564 when a graphite mine was discovered in England

By 1959, many new products followed. Filamentary carbon was made into graphite cloth and eventually carbon and graphite cloth, felt, yarn, tape, and fibers were to follow.

The graphite or black part in the center. People sometimes call it lead but that is misleading. Pencils used to be made of lead until it was discovered that lead is toxic. Now they are graphite, a form of carbon.

yttrium was discovered in the year 1794.
Lead was used for writing in Roman times. The 'lead' in a pencil is a mixture of graphite and clay. It is called lead because when the graphite deposit was first discovered in Borrowdale, England, the locals thought it was lead (or plumbago). Chemists later corrected them but the name has stuck. Graphite is a form of carbon, like diamond, but softer. Unlike lead, graphite is non-toxic.
