They were made from 1931 to 1957, but I don't have any knowledge beyond that.
If your Iver Johnson sealed eight revolver has one piece wooden grips,then it was made from 1932-1941 this was the first model which also had a 6in.or 10in.barrel.The second model had a oversized wooden or plastic grips and a 4 1/2in or 6in.barrel.These were made from 1947-1952.If it has a 2 1/2in barrel this was the snub model which was made from 1952-1954.
I just paid $45 for one in around 75% condition, with a good leather holster from the same era. I have seen them go at auctions from $40 - $75. I can say that the Iver johnson target model small frame(,22cal)was made from 1925-1928.The iver johnson target large frame(.22cal)was made from 1921-1941.

They do not make a nine shot pistol made by Iver Johnson. These pistols were available in the 1940s.
There were 3 models of the Iver Johnson supershot revolvers.The first model was made from 1928-1941 and was marked 22 supershot on the left side of the barrel.The second model was made from 1932-1941 and was marked .22 Supershot Sealed Eight on the left side of the barrel,The third model was marked as the model 844 and had a unfluted cylinder.This was made from 1955-1957.
