The 337 first flew in 1961 and was much used in the Vietnam War as a forward observer and artillery control aircraft.
The cost for a Cessna 337 on the Controller website varied from $52,200 to $265,000. The Aircraft Shopper Online website quoted slightly lower prices on their Cessna 337s.

You are really asking TWO very different questions, which don't have the same answer. The first one about "unusual looking" is very much a matter of opinion. In my opinion many aircraft fit that description, The Cessna 337 Skymaster, the lovely Bede10, the unique Virgin Atlantic Global Flyer, the research jet White Knight One. There are many more and a surprising number designed by Jim Bede and Burt Rutan. You can 'google ' each of those names for pictures of these aircraft.
