Flute ranks - both open and stopped - were among the very first types of stops built into early organs, and remain among the most common organ stops today. The earliest organ string stop was the gambe, named after the cello-like instrument of the same name. Gambas start showing up in organ specifications about 1550 or thereabouts - some prototypes may be earlier.
The first violin made was by Andrea Amati in 1555. There are a few violins of his from that year that would be the actual first violin. There are two opinions on this.Opinion 1:Most would say the flute is more difficult. Flute requires a lot more than just embouchure. I played violin for one year and stopped because it was too boring and easy. I've been playing flute and piccolo for 7 years so I know what I'm talking about. And again, IN MY OPINION, it's more difficult to master.Opinion 2:Personally, I found the flute extremely easy to pick up, compared to the violin. The violin would be seen as harder because the accurate position of the notes needs to be determined by ear. Essentially, the notes are all there on the flute - one really only has to master the embouchure.
the flute is lighter but has a lot of keys
