It effectively ended in 1781 in Yorktown, Virginia after George Washington forced General Cornwallis to surrender after the battle there. But the Revolutionary War didn't officially end until the Treaty of Paris of 1783.

I think you are referring to the Civil War in which the north won. In the American Revolution the sides were the colonies and Britain. The colonies won in that war.
