The model number of your Wards Western Field.
It is easier to by a board of oak or walnut and make your own. I did, because I could never find one any where...
Western Field was a brand name used by Montgomery Ward department store. he guns were made by many different manufacturers. The Wards Mod.30-SB562A is actually a Stevens 520. This is the "A" style receiver with different tang lengths than original 520 model. A replacement barrel for the 520 will not fit properly the 520"A" receiver because threaded end is shorter.

I suggest you get a magnifier and relook the model number. It is probably a 30-SB562A. I have one that I would not part with. I was told that it was probably 80 years old but that does not square with what I have read in other entries at this site.
