I have a Cable serial #180242 and the sales slip that was inside the case of the piano says it was purchased in 1914.
A Cable-Nelson piano with serial number 215022 would have been produced sometime between 1947 and 1950. At this time, Cable-Nelson pianos were actually produced by the Everett Piano Company, who was later acquired by Yamaha.
a cable Nelson player Piano serial number is generally as old as the player piano it appears on. They were assigned during manufacture.

how old is my cable piano serial #357773
it was made in England
This depends entirely on the use of the cable. In a full features RS-232 cable there would be 9 cables. But most hardware that uses a serial cable doesn't have the need for all of these wires so the number may vary. regards, tesseract
The highest rated cable is the Dynex 16" USB PDA/Serial Adapter Cable
stand in front of the keys with the lid lifted. Slide the 1 foot by 5 feet panel lying on the top of the piano, under the lid. Can't miss the serial number.
