No, there is a controller that makes the rear window go up and down. You need to remove the plastic cover which snaps in place. Second, you will see a controller labeled "Toyota MPX Door." This is the control/relay that sends the voltage to the window motor. Mine went bad, and had to be replaced. Many are fooled by this and think that the window motor is bad, when in all actuallity, it is the relay. Also - try inserting the ignition into the rear door lock while turning to the right. The lock raises and lowers the rear window independent of the interior or remote key switch operations.

Before you kill yourself looking for the fuse try putting the window all the way down then back up. This may fix your window. Opening and closing the rear hatch causes the window to settle down a little and it makes the safety trigger actuate (Unknown to the driver) This prevents the rear window washer from working. You don't want your window to wash with the rear window open do you? it may not go all the way up either without lowering it first. Hope this helps.

The window has a safety switch that keeps the wiper, washer and heater from working if the window is open. The window settles down (from opening and closing the hatch) over time the window settling triggers the switch. If you open and re-close the window it resets the switch and everything works again. My 2003 4 Runner does this over time. I just open it and re-close it to fix the problem.
