the 085 AKA O8S was produced in the 1960's between 1963 to 1965 or so. Very little info on these old saws, they were approx a 60cc engine and very powerful for the day and still hold up well to the modern day Sthil saws. The one I have has very good high RPM, that surprises me sthil to this day.

3oz per 1gal =40:1 and ive ran mine that way for many years and works great! 50:1 mix with premium gas. period. Only run leaner if you have a modified saw. (if you dont know it its modified, than it probably isnt). so always run 50:1!
What is the different between stihl 029 and a stihl 029 super?
The super is about 5cc larger than the regular 029. My guess is that in the factory if the cylinder did not pass inspection they bored it out and slid it over into the assembly line for the 029 Super. I had a regular 029 for 8 years cutting up about 30 huge trees around my house in WA. That saw was a dream, I miss it like I miss that beautiful 81 Cadillac I used to have. She was a dream too, LOL.
