  1. Have an excuse. For example, if you go to an underachieving state school, or one of your parents recently died, Oxford might let you get away with AAB.
  2. Apply to a non-competitive course. Look through the data in the prospectus and see what courses have fewer applicants per place. They are all competitive, though, and if you don't have a good idea which course you want, you will not get through interviews as they will be able to tell you are hedging your bets.
  3. Improve your grades until you are a straight A student. In Oxford, you are expected to work a lot harder than A-levels, and if you are struggling to get As when the majority of Oxford students get more than 90% in all their exams, and do well more than the average amount of exams (like 5 or 6 A levels usually), then you can expect to fail at work in uni, and get kicked out. This is why Oxford rarely lets in students without plenty of As.
