- Have an excuse. For example, if you go to an underachieving state school, or one of your parents recently died, Oxford might let you get away with AAB.
- Apply to a non-competitive course. Look through the data in the prospectus and see what courses have fewer applicants per place. They are all competitive, though, and if you don't have a good idea which course you want, you will not get through interviews as they will be able to tell you are hedging your bets.
- Improve your grades until you are a straight A student. In Oxford, you are expected to work a lot harder than A-levels, and if you are struggling to get As when the majority of Oxford students get more than 90% in all their exams, and do well more than the average amount of exams (like 5 or 6 A levels usually), then you can expect to fail at work in uni, and get kicked out. This is why Oxford rarely lets in students without plenty of As.
