How can I bathe my dog if she's afraid of water?

I have a dog that really does not like being washed. So I tried sevral experiments and over all only 1 worked. so here it goes, if your dog has a particular toy or treat they really like, put it on a trail leading to the bathtub. put his favorite, FAVORITE toy into a plastic hamster wheel kind of thing. your dog will jump into the bath. when he is in, release the toy and that will distract him/her so it will give you time to wash it.

if your dog is afraid of water this is what you do.

- fill up the tub or what ever you bath your dog in and have them sit near the water not in it. what ever you do don't force them much or you will scare them.

- after a minuet gently splash some water on them until they calm down some.

- pick them up if they're a small breed and sit next to the water with her and continue splashing some water at her. don't splasch it directly in her face. if it's a larger breed dog just do the same thing except have them have their front legs on the tub except where they can see the water.

- after a moment, put the dog in the tub and try to calm them down.

- once they're calmed have them sit and clean as much of them as you can like thet until they have to stand to clean the rest of them.
