I have a Nikon Coolpix S220. It was about $130 and it has lasted almost 2 years now. I have had an Olympus and a Canon and both broke after a year, and would have cost more than I paid for them to fix. The thing with digital cameras is you have to find one that lasts long or you will have to buy a new one every year.

I have a Fujifilm Finepix J38. It works really well and was affordable.

I've started using my iPhone's camera almost exclusively these days. The picture quality isn't perfect, of course, but the convenience makes it worth it.

I hear the Sony Cybershot W220 is a good digital camera and is under $200. The Canon Powershot IS A1100 is really good too. Overall, photo quality is good in both, but won't have all the features of a more expensive digital cam. I have the Canon S90, it is a little more expensive, but I love it!
