• It is normal and wise that a person keeps some things in their life private as people crave some sort of privacy. It does not always mean what they prefer to keep private (or secret) as something shameful to hide. However, there are some people that may be fearful of rejection if they should discuss a private matter with a close friend and people with private thoughts are often wise enough to know it is important they tell a friend that can keep their information highly confidential so it is not spread around to others. There are other people who really need to discuss a problem they have with someone and it is those people that can be depressed and sad that worry their family and friends so when someone says 'don't keep everything a secret' it means they want you to trust them and discuss your problem with them. Be sure you pick a wise and dependable friend as there are some people that just want to hear the gossip and don't consider the confidentiality that person has shared with them.
