It depends on what subject it is in: Math: No: It has to be higher than 9.2 English: Yes: But be careful because that is the minimum History: No: has to be 9.4 and above I know this because my mom is a professor there and I finally got into Ryerson for history. Mit would not let me in with a 8.9 GPA. :)

Harvard Medical School and MIT have a joint program called the HST program. You can get an MD and still do intensive clinical research through MIT.
