- Servers are the centralized computer where companies stores their data, it is the main computer in the network of several client computers. They typically have large RAIDed disk arrays for storing data.
- Minicomputers are obsolete, being replaced by personal computers.
- Mainframe computers are simply large computers. They may be servers or stand alone machines used mostly for batch processing.
- Supercomputers are for designed for problems that require unusually large amounts of calculations, thus they have more than 10 times the speed and data storage capacity of the most advanced standard computers available in their era & usually cost proportionally more. Programming of supercomputers is typically harder than programming other computers due to unique architectural features.
