I'm a 5th yr. pharmacy student at Florida A&M University which has a 100% passing rate on the state board exam. At the present time there is not a fast way on how to become a pharmacist, because knowledge can not be rushed. The program will take 6 years to complete 2 years undergrad and 4 yrs. when you are excepted into a College Of Pharmacy. People have to understand that a pharmacy is not a fast food chain!!!!! If you want a fast way to get behind the counter of a drug store become a tech. A pharmacist is highly skilled and very educated, would you want a person to handle your loved ones medication and their degree took only 18 months or less to complete? Now back to the question you can check your local comm.college or University for an updated course selection. A way to save time is to also make sure that you complete the schools of your choice undergrad requirements, each university requirements may be different good luck and study, study, study!

If you're in high school, take a math class and a science class EVERY year. If you can take advanced or AP classes, even better. Enjoy chemistry. You'll be dealing with a bunch of that. After you graduate, or if you've already graduated, you have to apply to Pharmacy Schools. There are many colleges that offer pharmacy degrees, so you're going to have to do some searching to find out which one is the right fit for you. After you're accepted, it's going to be 6 years of very hard work studying and passing exams (such as the Naplex) before you graduate and can get your certification to practice. While it's a lot of hard work, you do make good money. However, it's not a field that becomes easy once you graduate. It's very fast paced and you are constantly learning. but if you like being kept really busy and always being challenged to learn something new, it could be a great fit for you!

One can obtain a pharmacist degree by studying for 5 years at a university and completing the master degree in pharmacy (MPharm). Another way to obtain the degree is if one takes the pharmacy foundation degree where they can then enter the MPharm in year 2.

The associates degree would be the shortest in time, but still it takes approximately two to three years. Read the following as it is particular to the associates of science in nursing.

First, the associate's in nursing is typically an associate's of science degree (AS). It is designed as a two year program of study once the student enters the professional phase nursing courses. There are some community colleges that do offer an AS in nursing. Courses included - in general - are as follows. * Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II * Microbiology * Chemistry (inorganic and organic and biochemistry) * English Composition I and II * General Psychology * Principles of Sociology * Humanities Electives The above are general education requirements. The professional phase courses are: * Nursing I * Nursing II * Nursing III * Nursing IV Each college may have its own curriculum layout. In addition, nursing programs today are somewhat competitive. You should contact the community college and request information on their admissions requirements. Start with your home county community college. If they do not offer the program, then check with the surrounding counties.

In addition, the cost of a nursing program is expensive compared to other associate degree programs. It is not the tuition as such, but the clinical fees that brings the cost up. Make sure you have your finances in order, and make sure you apply for financial aid assistance if needed.

Lastly, many individuals are going into nursing programs today. In comparison, only a few graduate because of the intensity of the clinical phase. The reason is that they take too much of a credit load. For example, one community college I know of combines Nursing I with Human Anatomy and Physiology II in the same semester. This is too much for most students. I would strongly recommend you complete all of your critical science courses first, and as much of the other general education courses as possible before going on to your professional phase nursing coursework. When you start the nursing courses, you want to concentrate on nursing, and just nursing. This will give you a better chance of completing the program in good form.
