You were obviously in the process of wetting your pants when you looked at the speedometer, but not everyone is a good driver. To get to your answer, your car tops out at 115 Mph. Although the top speed is set to about 110-115 Mph, it's easy to disconnect the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) from the ECM. The top speed will then rise signifficantly. It should then be capable of doin' 160+ MPH :) it also depends on your final drive gear. the lower the number the higher your top speed ect. 3.73 will have a higher top speed than 4.11. and i dont mean to burst your bubble but i highly dought that you can reach 160 plus b/c your engine only has about 170 horse power. and i researched that. if is the ho version then you have about 230 horsepower and even then i still dont think that you would be able to exceed 160. though its only rated at 170 bhp it has 255 ft-lbs of torque it could probably make it
I have a 91 z28 5 speed 305 rated at 230hp. The only aftermarket part is a Flowmaster muffler and I've topped it out at 240km/h which is very close to 150mph. I don't think I'll do that again though, the road gets pretty rough at that speed. I believe my final drive gear is lower than even the 3.73 listed above. -- just re-read your question and see that you have an RS, I do believe your engine should be 170hp.
