You need to see if your fuel pump is weak; this is the #1 problem with these trucks. Remove the shrader valve cap on the rear of the fuel line to test for pressure. If your pump is original, it is probably weak.

I had these same symptoms on my 96 Z28 and it turned out to be a clogged transmission filter. The car would sputter a bit then it would not go at the stop sign. I turned off the car and let it sit for a few and then started it up again and it moved a few hundred feet then shaking, high revving and no go. Replaced the trans filter and fluid(very dirty) and all was well again. Hope this helps.

True. Renewable resources can be replaced or grown again.
The fuel filter for the 2004 Jeep Wrangler is located in the gas tank. It is integrated with the fuel pump assembly. Generally, fuel filters of this type do not need to be replaced (except if/when you're replacing the fuel pump). Just for your information, the filter is available only through the Jeep dealer, at a cost of around $120. Again however, this type of fuel filter is considered "non-serviceable" (i.e., they consider it a "lifetime" filter, typically changed only if the fuel pump needs to be replaced.
I was told that you could use marine's putty which I purchased from Home Depot, however, this only worked temporarily last season. I continued to have the leak and continued to get air which made it impossible to clean my pool. I replaced the filter this season and hopefully it doesn't happen again. Good luck.
