The Baitoushan Volcano last erupted circa 1702 and has been dormant since. Record keeping was spotty, but it is said that it spread pumice in a 25 mile diameter and erupted 25KM into the stratosphere in it's +/-969 AD, one of the largest eruptions in 2000 years.
Volcanic eruption often kill people.People have the nasty habit of dying every day.Mauna Loa erupted in 1975 but no one died because of it.
The last time it erupted was in 1801. We don't have the statistics about the number of people that were killed, but it is said that it covered a whole village and a fishing pond.
I don't think there were people in Mt. Vesuvius in 79. It was and still is an active volcano. If you mean what happened to the people in the surrounding areas when the volcano erupted, they were killed by the hot gasses that rolled down from the volcano.
Mount Teide last eruption was on November 18, 1909, and you would think that with as much history as there is recorded in this time frame that this would be recorded. At this time a number of people that died in the 1909 eruption is unknown. We do have records of when it erupted, but not of casualties.

Easily. Volcanoes can kill in three ways. Obviously, if you are touched by the molten lava, it will injure or kill you. The volcanic ash can suffocate or bury you, such as happened at Pompeii in Italy, 2000 years ago. But the sulfuric fumes of a volcano can be quick poisons themselves. In 1904, Mt Pelee in Martinique erupted, and killed over 28,000 people. Also in 1883, Mount Krakatoa erupted. The death toll was unclear (measured over 36,000, but also over 120,000)

It erupted in 1980. Pyroclastic flows reached temperatures of 300 degrees Celsius , which would instantaneously kill people and destroy trees. It killed 53 people and is one if the most powerful eruptions in the last 50 years
