I assume you mean Hummer. No, a Hummer is not a Jeep. The Hummer or Humvee replaced the Jeep in the U.S. Military.
Hummer.
The history of Hummer began with the Humvee. Humvee was developed mainly for the US Military. The model gained lot of popularity and later created a model for the civilian purpose which came to be called as Hummer. The vehicles got sold in 1992. The earliest Humvee models were strictly for military use and were fitted with military equipment such as radar. The history of the Hummer was changed when the vehicle was made public. Its design mainly got media attention. After a lot of public demand the company started producing Humvees for civilian use. Humvee got its name changed to Hummer. Hummer's history became in 1998 when AM Corp got sold to general Motors. AM General would continue to produce the vehicles but it was GM that handled the marketing. GM was also responsible for selling the products. Hummer saw great success and GM started producing other models of Hummer. The original Hummer was renamed H1 while the newer models were called H2 and H3 respectively.
