you ask god for prayer maybe because you need it and he can help you.. You ask god because he loves you and will always be there for you

That Scripture you refer to is in James4.2. James also says his first chapter about receiving from the lord. And the Bible also says in Philippians 4.6 -Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.So the answer to your question is no, not of people but of the Lord God

If you ask with a sincere heart and have the faith to know that he will answer your prayer, then you will know of the truth of all things. If what you read is good then it is of God.
