Their day is spent in a combination of four hours of prayer with practical service. The focus of their prayer life and ministry is to help assuage the thirst of Jesus. To do this they, following their founder's mother Teresa's example, seek to serve the poorest of the poor. In Edinburgh they make food and sandwiches for the homeless which takes two to three hours in the morning and they have an hours prayer in the middle of the morning. In the afternoons they go out to visit the poor and also serve an evening meal for the homeless/or destitute.
