When I have my period I use a Maxi pad but it irritates me but when I use and ultra thin I leak when my flow Also the maxi's are even too big when my flow is large Is there an in-between medium?

Pad's have differing absorbency ratings, shows as little water drops on the side of the packet - choose the absorbency you need and change accordingly to prevent leaking.

If your pads irritate you it may be the type you're using, commercial pads such as Always or Kotex commonly cause irritation either due to their preventing air-flow, containing hundreds of chemicals, or because of rough edges. Try different types of pads; organic pads such as Cottons or Natracare are hypoallergenic so prevent irritation due to chemicals, or cloth pads such as Lunapads or Gladrags cut out any form of irritation - both types of pads are more hygienic, healthier, and greener too.
