"One small step for man, but one giant leap for mankind" or something like that.
Houston, Tranquility Base here, the Eagle has landed. That is what Neil Armstrong said when Buzz Aldrin and he landed on the Moon. That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. That is what Neil Armstrong said when he first set foot on the lunar surface.
After reporting engine shutdown and such, Neil Armstrong said, "Houston, Tranquility base here. The Eagle has landed!"
He was supposed to say 'One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind'.
Buz Aldrin NOT Neil Armstrong! Neil Armstrong landed on the moon 10 minutes after Buz Aldrin did. They also went with Mike Collins who flew round the moon several times never actually stopping the rocket in space at all! So Neil Armstrong should not take all the credit because actually Buzz Aldrin landed first but if you want our science teacher o be happy say Neil Armstrong. :)

Neil Armstrong said "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." It was important as they were the very first words spoken on the moon and would go on record as being so. He always mentions this when talking about his mission and say's he fluffed his lines.
