No, she was not pregnant - to Dodi Al Fayed anyway. The pregnancy rumour was begun by Mohammad Al Fayed. Diana and Dodi had only been dating for four weeks prior to the fatal accident, time enough for Diana to conceive maybe, but not enough time for it to have been confirmed and especially for Mr Al Fayed Snr to have been privy to such intimate knowledge of the Princess. The pregnancy rumour has been dispelled by Diana's closest friend, Rosa Monkton, who holidayed with Diana on board the Al Fayed yacht during the four week 'romance' and she confirmed that during this four week spell Diana had her period, two weeks before the accident, thus making it almost impossible for her to have been pregnant. Mr Al Fayed Snr continues to promote his theory that Diana and Dodi would have married however those closest to Diana, especially her best friend Ms Monkton, have said Diana was not interested in marrying any man at that time, least of all Dodi Al Fayed. Diana was simply enjoying a four week fling with Dodi - nothing more, nothing less. Diana would not have been careless enough to have fallen pregnant to a man she only knew on a very casual basis.
