It is advised that LDS teenagers wait until age 16 to date and preferred that they go on group dates at that time. While this is strongly encouraged by the LDS Church, everyone can make their own choices.

A Mormon Missionary is not allowed to date or to do anything that would detract them away from their main purpose, that of preaching the gospel. Elderly married couples go on missions but they serve in a different capacity to the full time missionaries.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" Church) marry whenever they have found someone they would like to marry, are of legal age, and are ready to make the commitment. The Church does not intervene in any way in relationships or marriages - it is up to the individual to develop relationships and find a spouse. Some marry as young as 18, and others never marry. Some don't marry until their 30's, 40's, or later. The average marriage age of Church members in the United States is mid-20's.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) are encouraged to avoid dating before they are 16 years old, and to avoid exclusive romantic relationships (i.e. having a 'boyfriend' or 'girlfriend') until they are marriage age (18 or older).

Most Mormon teens follow these guidelines, but some may go on group dates when they are 15, or they may not feel comfortable dating at all until they are in college. It is a personal choice. You can read the official guidelines on dating written by Mormon leaders at the "Related Links" below.

Can Mormons not date non-Mormons even if the girl is willing to convert when she marries and goes to stake dances and has a lot of Mormon friends?

Mormons can date whomever they want, but are encouraged to date other members of the church. Dating can lead to marriage, and Mormons believe that if you marry in the temple, you can be sealed to your spouse for eternity. However, both individuals must be members of the church in order to be sealed in the temple. If you are willing to convert, why wait until marriage? If you have a testimony, join the church now, and then you don't have to worry about not being able to date Mormons because you will be one. :)

Why do Mormons flirt?

For the same reason anyone flirts - to hint to the person you are speaking to that you are attracted to them! Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called "Mormons") date and have relationships too!

Can Mormons go out with someone 4 years younger then them?

It all depends on their age... for example, a 16 year old should not date a 12 year old, but its acceptable a 29 year old to date a 25 year old. In most western countries, including the US, its socially unacceptable to date someone 4 years younger than you unless both are over 18 years old. The Mormon Church has no rules or guidelines about age differences in dating, they simply ask that teens wait until they are at least 16 to date.
