yes. but then again his only 14 so take it easy.
It's not the kind of question that has an easy answer. Chances are, he does mean it to the bottom of his heart, but at such a young age, it's not the easiest thing to predict. Relationships take a lot of work on both sides to make them work, so if you both want the relationship to last and are willing to work and make changes to yourself to make each other happy, then you certainly could last forever.
