Situation dependent. A driver who had a chance to scale out but did not would be responsible. However, there are some exceptions. Dump truck drivers who drive for a company which loads them at a job site then sends them to a destination where they have no opportunity to scale out in-between - the company will eat that one.

What is a private driver's license?

A private driver's license allows the license holder to drive private vehicles. It is different from a commercial driver's license which is required to drive any vehicle for commercial use (passenger vehicles for hire such as a taxi, bus, van, limousine; school buses; where the driver's primary employment is driving), over 26,000 lb (11,793 kg) in weight, or which transports hazardous materials.

What is the highest commercial driver's license you can get?

There are three classes of CDL - Class A: Commercial vehicle combinations with a Gross Combination Weight Rating of 26,001 lbs. or higher, in which the vehicle in tow (trailer) has a weight rating of greater than 10,000 lbs. Class B: Single commercial vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 26,001 lbs. or higher. Additionally, a Class B CDL holder may also pull a trailer with a weight rating of no more than 10,000 lbs. Class C: Used for vehicles or combinations with a weight rating of 26,000 lbs. or less. Even though vehicles under 26,001 lbs. don't usually require a CDL, they do require one when they're carrying hazardous materials, or are buses designed to transport more than 15 persons (including the driver).

What is the difclass a commercial driver's license and class b commercial driver's license?

A Class A CDL is for commercial vehicles with a Gross Combination Weight Rating of more than 26,000 lbs., in which the vehicle in tow (i.e., the trailer) has a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of more than 10,000 lbs. Most commonly, this is used for tractor-trailer combinations, but it is not exclusive - for example, something like a Ford F650/F750 pulling an equipment trailer rated at more than 10,000 lbs. would require a Class A CDL. Class B CDL is for single vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of more than 26,000 lbs., or for combinations with a Gross Combination Weight Rating of more than 26,000 lbs., when the weight rating of the vehicle in tow (trailer) does not exceed 10,000 lbs.

Delivery truck with 10500 gvw how much weight can it hold?

Deduct the actual weight of the vehicle (E-350 Van) from 10,500 lbs. The remainder is the weight capacity of the cargo (including Passenger weight) that the manufacturer specifies for the vehicle. If vehicle weight is unknown buy a weight ticket at a commercial scale and drive it unloaded onto the scale with the normal driver on board. Subtract this weight from 10,500 lbs. The remainder would be the maximum legal cargo weight which may be loaded.
