Plants do not attract the Sun. Sunlight comes form the Sun and falls on the surface of the Earth as a matter of physics and this would happen if there were no plants.

However, plants are attracted to (grow towards) light.

it gains energy through photosynthesis....the energy is in form of glucose which it feeds off of through its chloroplasts in the plants cells
