When a sound board on a 1995 Chevy Lumina might be going or is gone are they referring to the reason for the engine stall when the Van is put in gear. It starts fine but stops when we place in Drive.?

sounds like the tourque converter lock up solenoid is bad have a mechanic un plug it and if it stops you will know. the van can be drivin with this unpluged but may cause check engine light to stay on and the van will not have over drive (causing very high rpm at highway speeds) hoped this helps
