The seeds of the offspring are yellow because the allele for yellow seeds is dominant and the allele for green seeds is recessive. If you use a Punnett Square to show the way the possible gametes would pollinate, it would look something like this:

All the peas in the F1 generation are yellow because yellow is the dominant trait and when the dominant trait is present it is always expressed.

Y = yellow

y = green
