When and where did Hinduism begin?

Hinduism origninated in India, and probably goes back something like ten thousand years. It is an extremely ancient religion. No precise moment when Hinduism began has been recorded in history.

BEGINNING OF HINDUISM

Rig Veda is supposed to be the first literary document of Hinduism and is dated between 1700-1100 BC. The estimation of the age of Hinduism is based on the dating of Rig Veda.

However, Rig Vedic mantras are based on Brahmajnana, a knowledge that is independent of time, place and person.Therefore, in Rig Veda there is no mention of any real time, place or person.

For the same reason, Hinduism, doesn't have man made rules. Since Hinduism is based on laws of human instincts, it would last as long as the human race.

Therefore, unlike other religions Hinduism has no beginning. Hindus have never made an attempt to associate the beginning of Hinduism with any time, place or person.

Therefore, Hinduism is as an eternal religion, with no beginning and no end.

Supposing that it has a beginning and associating such a hypothetical beginning with a real time, place or person is against the spirit of Hinduism.

Hinduism originated in or around the ancient version of India (which was much larger than India today). It originated at least 10,000 years ago, but probably existed before that as well, because that is the age of the oldest known artifact that we have and know is of Hindu origin.
