There's first, second, and third person POVs. First person refers to the idea that the story is narrated by a single person, from their point of view using words such as "I did this", "He took me there", etc. Second Person is the least commonly used POV with the story being narrated as if it was being told to someone ex.- You may have found it hard to believe, but it was true. Third Person stories are narrated by an unseen ubiquitous narrator who basically knows how all the characters are feeling and what each one is doing at any particular time, no matter where they are or who is around them. The Harry Potter series is written in third person.

The Last Horror Movie (2003) - A british serial killer "tapes over" the horror movie that is supposed to be playing and instead explains about his violent and voyeuristic habits. Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006) - Another mockumentary about the rise and fall of a serial killer told from the killer's thoughts and ideas to a film crew. Half the movie is documentary style, the other half is slasher style. The Hitcher (2007) - Not explicitly told from the killer's POV, but this movie definitely gave the killer more of a background and personal story where you almost felt bad for him at the end. Still slasher, but not as cliche. Hannah's Gift (2008) - Told from several POVs, including a psychotic killer. A little girl can put herself into other people's minds, so it gets pretty crazy. How do you write in 3rd person?
1st person point of view (POV) is from a character's point of view. The two most common forms of 3rd person POV are 3rd person Limited and 3rd person Omnicient. 3rd person limited is when there is an outside narrator (a speaker that is not part of the story) who can see what some, but not all of the characters are thinking and feeling. Usually, the speaker/narrator follows around one or a small group of characters around, but the reader only knows what the main character knows. This type of narrator cannot "see through walls." The name describes it well - the reader is limited to what the speaker is able to see. 3rd person omnicient can also be defined easier by looking at the name. The term "omnicient" means "God-like." This narrator knows and sees everything that all characters are able to see, think, feel and say. This is the most reliable narrator for a story because the reader is able to get all sides of the story.
