This question is very dependent on what jurisdiction you live in.

I am also assuming this also is in relation to unemployment benefit's.

If you have to quit your job and wish to receive benefits generally very defined reasons for doing this that would let you qualify.

If the work environment or job is abusive in some way, there is documentation supporting this that meets the rules

And the above conditions were not of your own doing.

For example, I am allergic to Dogs and Cats, If my boss knowing this changed my job to grooming dogs and cats and refused to provide me with other employment this may be justifiable grounds to quit and still receive benefit's.

Check with your local unemployment office and do the paper work correctly.
