Best Answer

Yes it will. Different bases will affect the conducitivity of the water. If you are looking into water electrolysis (to produce Hydrogen and Oxygen) the Sodium Sulphide solution will be your best bet for a basic solution. Personally I prefer Sulphuric acid solution but it all depends on your preference.

What are some scenarios for a substance being classified as a weak acid?

A way to classify an acid as being weak is to determine how strongly the substance conducts electricity. If the acid or base conducts electricity strongly, it is a strong acid or base. If the acid or base conducts electricity weakly, it is a weak acid or base.

How do you use a transistor?

A transistor is an electronic component that can be used as an amplifier or a switch. It has 3 connections: base, collector, emitter. It conducts electricity via the emitter to the collector only when the right voltage is applied to the base. As an amplifier, the amount of current it conducts at any instant will vary in a manner which depends on the instantaneous value of the varying voltage that is applied to the base.

When ammonia is added to water does it act as an acid or a base?

When ammonia is added to water, it acts as a base. This is because according to Lewis Concept of Acids and Bases, a lone pair donor is a base. NH(3) donates its lone pair to H+ ion from water and hence is a base.
