In India it can be filed, if the petitioner not happy(less than they expected) with the awarded amount by the court. OR if the Respondent feels the awarded amount is very high for that particular case. One of these can file MFA to the Superior Court than the Lower court.MFA stands for "Miscellaneous First Appeal".
