New Mexico became a state on January 6, 1912, and Arizona joined the union on February 14, 1912, almost exactly 100 years before the typing of this answer.

After the addition of Arizona, the United States went almost 47 years without a new state joining the union (until Alaska statehood in 1958), a record that stood until the summer of 2006 when the same amount of time had passed since Hawaii statehood. July 4, 2010 marked the first time that the U.S. used the same flag design for at least 50 years.
