Confederate General Stephen Dill Lee graduated from West Point in 1854. Among the 46 graduating cadets in his class, Lee was ranked 17th. Lee served in a number of major battles. These included the Peninsula campaign, the Battle of Antietam and the Siege of Vicksburg. Later he would help defend Atlanta in the campaign of the same name.
Confederate General Edmund Kirby Smith was a graduate of West Point's class of 1845. He ranked 26th in his class.
Confederate General Stephen Dodson Ramseur graduated from West Point in 1860. He was ranked 14th among the 41 cadets graduating in his class of 41 cadets. Ramseur fought in the major campaigns in the Eastern Theater, notable Chancellorsville and Gettysburg. He was killed in 1864 at the Battle of Cedar Creek.
James Longstreet held the rank of major general in the Confederate army. He graduated 54th in the West Point class of 1842.

Confederate General Lloyd Tilghman graduated from West Point in 1836. Among the 49 cadets that graduated that year, General Tilghman ranked 46th. General Tilghman was killed at the Battle of Champion Hill in 1846 while directing a Confederate artillery battery.

Confederate General George W. Rains graduated from West point in 1842. Among his graduating class of 56 cadets, he ranked third. He is best known for his work in torpedoes in the US Civil War. He was the younger brother of Confederate General Gabriel Rains.
Confederate General Braxton Bragg graduated form West Point in 1837. He ranked fifth in his class that had fifty graduates that year. General Bragg played a large role in the Western Theater of the US Civil War.
Confederate General John Bankhead Magruder graduated from West Point in 1830. He was ranked 15th in his graduating class of 42 cadets. Magruder is best known for his service in the Peninsula campaign.
Confederate General Daniel Ruggles graduated from West Point in 1833. Among his graduating class of 43 cadets, Ruggles ranked 34th. He saw major action in artillery at the Battle of Shiloh.
